All employees, including those who work from home, are entitled to workers compensation insurance if they are injured in an on-job accident. It is just that it is not easy for telecommuting workers to prove that they got injured on the job. Your Employer Hasn't Provided You With a Work Space

One of the best ways of strengthening your worker's compensation claim for a home injury is to prove that you were working from home for your employer's benefit, and not your benefit. A good way to do this is to prove that your employer hasn't provided you with a workstation or space. For example, if you have been hired as an in-house editor but your employer hasn't given you a desk at their premises, it means you are working from home for the employer's convenience and you should be compensated when injured at home.

You Regularly Work From Home

It's also important for the court to know whether you have been working from home on a regular basis or it was just a one-time thing. You have a strong claim if you regularly work from home because that is something that definitely has your employer's blessing, and they should shoulder the associated risks.

You Have Work Equipment At Home

Having work things at home also strengthens your claim for workers compensation by showing that your home is indeed your workplace and your employer not only knows about it but also sanctions it. This may the case if you have work files at home, a computer for primarily work activities or a corporate phone at home.
